Calypso Cascades

The trail to Calypso Cascades is 1.8 miles each way, with an elevation gain of 700 feet. Starting elevation is 8515'. The trail follows a creek the whole way, and is one of the most beautiful trails that we've ever hiked.

This is Copeland Falls, along the trail to Calypso Cascades

Another photo of Copeland Falls

The ferns were very lush this year along the trail, thanks in part to all of the recent rain.

Nice place to hike, huh?

Again..... along the trail. :)

Calypso Cascades

Unfortunately, Calipso Cascades wasn't very photogenic. Although the photo doesn't show it well at all, the waterfall is a 600' (yes 600 feet!) drop over massive boulders and tree-topped outcroppings. It is one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring waterfalls that we've every hiked to. It's really too bad that it doesn't look very impressive in photos.
