Las Vegas R/C Helicopter Crap Shoot Fly-In
January 25-27, 2002.

The event was a blast, and well attended with 93 pilots at last count. I was able to visit with old friends, renew contact with some local pilots, and generally have a GREAT time! Oh yeah.... I also discovered some new equipment that I just have to have. :)

Here's a couple of very sweet paint jobs.

These are a few of the many X-Cell Fury's that were being flown at the event. If you are looking for a nice gift for me... one of these would be great. :)

YIKES!!! These for some scary paint schemes!!

If I were into scale aircraft.... I'd have to own one of these Vario ships!

This is the Vario turbine powered helicopter. I understand that the kit is around $5,000.00. It sure looks complex!

Here's a shot of Paul, Ford, and Greg (from left to right). All nice guys and great pilots.... well... except for that "Paul" guy. :)

Ron Lund of Rick's Helicopters in Corpus Christi Texas (the very best source for all things related to R/C helicopters in my opinion) standing beside Ford Rollo of Hailey Idaho.

Some of the Mikado electric helicopters. Their demo flights were amazing! Electric power has certainly come a long ways in the last few years.

The flight line on Friday afternoon. The weather was very cooperative all weekend.
